My Kwantlen Polytechnic University colleague and good friend Dr. I. Jay Tuason and her siblings lost their mother, Maria Catroppa, two years ago tomorrow, when she was murdered by her husband at their home in her bed. As a tribute to Maria, the Surrey Women’s Centre, the Catroppa family and the City of Surrey have released The Honest Truth – a video public service announcement to help women identify risk factors for domestic violence and access critical resources such as the Surrey Women’s Centre. This video was produced by local Surrey residents, Alison Soroka and award-winning film maker John Banovich. Click here for more about the video and the Surrey Women’s Centre.
